While affiliate marketing can be a lucrative career path, being an affiliate manager is not for everyone. Agni Raitar, the senior affiliate manager of Partners.io, is here to talk about the experience of what it takes to be in the business.

Agni has been with Partners.io for five years. Within this time, she has won an EGR Social Campaign award and has been shortlisted for both iGaming Idol and IGB Affiliate Awards. Throughout her journey with Partners.io, she has met a lot of affiliates with different marketing styles and gained valuable insight into what it takes to thrive in the industry.

So we sat down with Agni and asked the most important questions about what it’s like to be in her position, what it takes to be an affiliate manager, what she does to unwind and more. Here’s what Agni shared with us when we asked her:

  • What are your core values as an affiliate manager?

‘I think it is important to be organised in the affiliate business. In the affiliate industry, a good affiliate manager is really a Swiss Army knife for the business. You develop a unique set of communication and people skills, while juggling countless tasks such as account management, brand representation, social media and forum management, onboarding, event organising and hosting, finance reporting, campaign management, in-depth reporting and the list goes on.

There are many aspects to this role that it is critical to have a proper system to organise the tasks and duties that go with it. Having a to-do list can really optimise your tasks on a daily basis and create order in the chaos around you.’

  • How long have you been an affiliate manager?

‘I have been an affiliate manager for close to 5 years now, and it really has not slowed down or become dull for me. I think this is why I love being in this industry.’

  • What’s the biggest commission payout you’ve made?

‘Well, over time, there have been many currencies and amounts among our products. In the recent past one of the biggest commissions we paid was around 12 BTC.’

  • What’s your best tip for becoming a successful affiliate manager?

If you’re looking to become a successful affiliate manager, prioritise empathy towards your affiliates and treat them with the same level of care and respect that you would want to receive. It’s important to remember that your affiliates are your partners, and the way you treat them will directly impact their level of respect and loyalty towards you.

Investing time and effort into building a personal relationship with each individual affiliate will ultimately lead to the most success in the long term. By focusing on the needs and goals of each affiliate, you can work together to create a mutually beneficial partnership that will continue to grow and thrive over time.’

  • What’s your favourite movie and why?

I wouldn’t say I have a particular favourite movie, as there are several that I enjoy. Typically, after a long day, I prefer to unwind by watching TV shows rather than movies. I particularly enjoy sci-fi shows, and one of my current favourites is “The Expanse.” The intricate world-building, compelling characters, and engaging plotlines keep me hooked, making it the perfect way to decompress and relax.’

  • To start your day off in the right way, what’s the one thing you need (or you need to do)?

For me, the key to starting my day off on the right foot is ensuring that I’ve had enough sleep the night before. I make a point to get between 7-8 hours of sleep each night to help ensure that I wake up feeling rested and energised, which sets the tone for a productive day ahead. By prioritising my sleep, I’m better equipped to tackle whatever challenges come my way, and I find that my overall well-being is greatly improved.

  • Is it better to make affiliate deals in crypto? Why or why not?

‘As an affiliate manager working with crypto brands like Bitcasino.io and Sportsbet.io, I strongly believe that making deals in cryptocurrencies can be a smart move. The crypto industry has experienced significant growth over the past few years, with more and more digital assets gaining mainstream acceptance. This presents a unique opportunity for affiliate marketers to target a specific crypto-focused audience and generate revenue.

In addition, using cryptocurrencies allows for a level of anonymity that can be appealing to some players, as well as offers security and convenience that traditional payment methods may not always provide.

At Partners.io, we’ve taken steps to mitigate the risks associated with the volatility of cryptocurrencies by offering commission payments in the USDT stablecoin. This helps to ensure that our affiliates are able to earn a consistent income, regardless of any fluctuations in the crypto market.

Overall, I believe that the benefits of working with crypto brands outweigh the potential drawbacks and that it’s a smart strategy for affiliate marketers looking to capitalise on the growing popularity of digital assets. By leveraging the unique advantages of cryptocurrencies, affiliates can create compelling offers that appeal to their target audience and drive success for themselves and their partner brands.’

  • What are you most looking forward to in the affiliate industry (could be events, changes, innovations, etc.)?

As someone who works in the igaming affiliate industry, I am always excited about the potential for new technologies and innovations to improve the way we do business. One trend that I am particularly excited about is the growing use of artificial intelligence (AI) in the affiliate space.

With the rise of platforms like ChatGPT, I believe we are at the cusp of affiliates using AI to generate more high-quality content. This has the potential to be a game-changer, as it will allow SEO affiliates to generate more content at a faster pace, while also ensuring that the articles are more engaging and personalised to the user.

In addition to AI, I am also looking forward to seeing more innovation in areas like mobile optimisation, user experience, and data analytics. As the industry continues to evolve, it’s important for affiliates to stay ahead of the curve and adapt to changing trends and user preferences.’
